Toyota founded its Scion brand in 2003 to appeal to younger. Its first models in the U.S. were based on typical Asian subcompacts. Today, Scion sell mini- and compact-vehicles at many urban Toyota dealerships. Headquartered in Torrance, Calif., Scion is wholly owned by Toyota.
