Test Tracks & Drives

Camp Jeep has been a Chicago Auto Show staple since 2005, with 2022 marking the brand’s 18th consecutive year of bringing the interactive exhibit to show-goers. The ultimate off-road driving test, Camp Jeep features an 18-ft., 35-degree “mountain” where passengers experience the extreme off-road and traction capabilities of Jeep’s latest vehicles – including the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid SUV and Gladiator pickup – without even stepping foot outside the auto show. The course will be comprised of several obstacles that stimulate some of the rigorous testing the Jeep vehicles endure before customers get behind the wheel. Each Camp Jeep participant will also receive a complimentary Jeep tote bag, while supplies last.

Ford Built Wild is making its global debut in Chicago and will feature a 30,000-sq.-ft. custom experience where auto show attendees can participate in a series of hands-on activations to help them understand accessorization, modularity and connectivity of the new Bronco family. Ford Built to Electrify makes its global debut as well at the Chicago Auto Show, bringing consumers a 11,000 sq.-ft. experience showcasing how Ford will lead the electric revolution in America with a range of vehicles, both retail and commercial, including the all-new Ford F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit.

A key highlight of the Built Wild Bronco experience is a Bronco off-road course, personally designed by famous racecar driver Vaughn Gittin Jr., where visitors will experience the Bronco family and take on a 38-degree high “Bronco Mountain” with professional drivers. Attendees will feel the thrill of the climb while they learn more about the technology that’s packed into the Bronco such as Goes Over Anything Mode (G.O.A.T.) that takes some of the anxiety and complexity out of off-roading.

Ford’s Built to Electrify area will feature an immersive and exhilarating Mustang Mach-E experience designed to show off the future-forward SUV’s embedded technology and connectivity. Attendees will be able to experience both Built Wild and Built to Electrify activations as a part of their general auto show ticket.

The Ram Truck Territory track is a 28,000-sq.-ft. ultimate in-truck adventure offering Chicago Auto Show attendees the opportunity to get inside a Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 to experience the trucks’ technology, interior refinement and capabilities of the brand lineup. Professional drivers will take guests through a course that will highlight the trucks’ suspension as they conquer steel culverts and navigate a high banked wedge to spotlight ground clearance and stability. Riders will also feel the traction and experience hill descent technology on the iconic “Ram Mountain,” a 13-ft. high, 30-ft. long course element with 30-degree approach and departure angles.
