2024 Toyota Highlander: The Toyota Highlander discontinues its L base model and debuts a Nightshade trim for 2024. Highlander is a three-row SUV that seats 7 or 8 passengers depending on the configuration. Competitors include the Chevrolet Traverse, Dodge Durango, Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, Mazda CX-9, Nissan Pathfinder and Volkswagen Atlas. A hybrid variant is also available.
Eleven trims are offered: LE, LE Hybrid, LE Nightshade, XLE, XSE, XLE Hybrid Nightshade, Limited, Limited Hybrid, Platinum, Platinum Hybrid. Two engines are available: A 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that produces 265 horsepower, and a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder that uses a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and pairs with two electric motors to make 243 total system horsepower. Front-wheel-drive is standard with all-wheel-drive being optional. Pricing ranges from $41,000 to $63,000.
