2024 Volkswagen Taos: The Volkswagen Taos gets a new SE Black trim for 2024, which reassures darkened exterior trim, black wheels, black roof, and other exterior and interior accents. New active safety tech features are also standard. Taos is a compact crossover that seats 5 passengers and is only offered as a 4-door wagon. Competitors include the Buick Encore GX, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona, Jeep Compass, Kia Soul, Mazda CX-30, and Subaru Crosstrek.

Three trims are offered: S, SE, SE Black, and SEL. One engine is offered: A turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 158 horsepower and mates to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive being optional. Towing is not recommended. Pricing ranges from $25,000 to 35,000.
