2021 Toyota 4Runner: The Toyota 4Runner sees the addition of a new Nightshade and Trail Edition packages, which add trim-specific wheels, body molding, and other performance parts for 2021. The 4Runner is a midsize SUV that seats 5 passengers. Competitors include the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Honda Passport, and Ford Edge.
Rear-wheel-drive is standard with four-wheel-drive being optional. There are seven trims offered: SR5, SR5 Premium, Venture Edition, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, Nightshade and TRD Pro. There is only one engine available: A 4.0-liter V6 that makes 270 horsepower and pairs with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 5,000 pounds.
Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing has not been released.
