2018 Mazda CX-9: The 2018 Mazda CX-9 is a crossover SUV that seats seven and competes with the Dodge Durango, Ford Explorer, and Honda Pilot in the competitive mid-size crossover class. For 2018 it adds low-speed automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and G-Vectoring Control as standard features.
The CX-9 is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 227 horsepower (250 with premium fuel) and mates to a six-speed automatic transmission. The CX-9 is offered with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. EPA-estimated fuel economy at 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway (20/26 with AWD).
The CX-9 is offered in four trims: Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and Signature.
