2018 Acura MDX

2018 Acura MDX: The 2018 Acura MDX boasts several upgrades for 2018. This luxury crossover SUV now offers standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, AcuraWatch, an enhanced 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, and an expanded color palette. It competes with the BMW X5 and the Volvo XC90, and Buick Enclave. A new Sport-Hybrid model is also available.

Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 290 horsepower and mates to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The MDX is available in front- or all-wheel drivetrain layouts. The hybrid variant features a 3.0-liter V6 engine aided by three electric motors that produce 321 horsepower. EPA-estimated fuel economy is rated at 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway with front-wheel drive, and 18/26 with all-wheel drive. The Sport-Hybrid model is ranked at 26 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.

The MDX seats six or seven, depending on interior configuration. Available comfort and convenience features include satellite radio, up to six USB ports, capless fuel filler, remote start, keyless start, Pandora internet radio streaming, power moonroof, two 20-inch wheel options, power-folding side mirrors, heated steering wheel, second-row captain's chairs, navigation system, Bluetooth, tri-zone climate control, rear entertainment system, LED fog lamps, power front seats, heated front seats, cooled front seats, heated second-row seats and a wood interior trim.

The AcuraWatch safety and driver-assistance suite is standard, which includes collision-mitigation braking, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow and road-departure mitigation. Side-curtain and driver's knee airbag are also standard. Available safety features include blind-spot information, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic monitor, a surround-view camera and automatic high beams.
