2021 BMW 3-Series: The BMW 3-Series is a 5-seat luxury sports car that's only available as a 4-door sedan. It's offered with rear- or all-wheel-drive and was last redesigned in 2019. For 2021 it gets a new plug-in hybrid model and wireless integration for Android Auto. Competitors include the Acura TLX, Alfa Romeo Guilia, Audi A4, Cadillac CT4, Infiniti Q50, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Volvo S60.
The 3=Series is offered in 330i, M340i, M3, M3 Competition and new 330e trim. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive (BMW's xDrive) optional across the board. 330i models get a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 255-horsepower. M340i models get a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that makes 385 horsepower. M3 and M3 Competition use the same twin-turbo inline 6, but it is rated at 473 and 503 horsepower, respectively. The new 330e combines the turbo 4-cylinder with an electric motor for a combined output of 288 horsepower. It has an EPA-rated all-electric range of up 22 miles. All engines mate to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Standard on all models is an infotainment system with an 8.8-inch screen and support for Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Available driver-assist technology includes rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $46,000 to $73,000.
