2018 Ram Heavy Duty: The heavy-duty Ram trucks, named 2500 and 3500, compete with similarly tough pickups such as the Chevrolet Silverado HD and Ford Super Duty. They remain mostly unchanged, with the exception of a rearview camera becoming a standard feature for 2018.
The 2500 and 3500 are powered by a 5.7-liter V8 that makes 383 horsepower, a 6.4-liter V8 that makes 410 horsepower, or a 6.7-liter turbodiesel six-cylinder that makes 350 or 370 horsepower, depending on transmission choice. The diesel is available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, while the two gas engines pair to a six-speed automatic. They are available with rear-wheel or four-wheel drive.
There are three cab offerings: Regular Cab, Crew Cab, and Mega Cab. Eight different trim levels are available: Tradesman, SLT, Big Horn, Lone Star, Sport, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Limited, and Limited Tungsten.
