2018 Audi R8: The 2018 Audi R8 is the German luxury brand's halo car. The race-inspired two-seater also features a convertible variant and competes with the BMW i8, Chevrolet Corvette, and new Lexus LC. For 2018 the R8 comes standard with smartphone interface, and newly available interior trims, plus wheel and side blade colors.
Power comes from one of two 5.2-liter V10 engines. The base engine makes 540 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque, and second engine option for the coupe only is a 610 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. Both versions have a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. Fuel economy is EPA-rated at 17 mpg city/22 mpg highway.
There are two trims available for the R8: The V10 and V10 Plus (only V10 for R8 Spyder). Available features include a carbon-fiber rear diffuser, front-lip spoiler, racing seats, rear spoiler, 20-inch wheels, sunroof, tilt/telescope steering wheel, heated seats, keyless starting, navigation system, infotainment system, premium audio, satellite radio, two USB ports, Bluetooth, rear fog lamps.
Safety features include carbon-ceramic brakes, integrated roll cage, rearview camera, front airbags, front-side airbags, side-curtain airbags, knee airbags, stability control and traction control, and all-wheel drive.
