Jennifer Ferm, originally from Lemont, Ill., recently graduated from the University of Iowa in May 2008 with a Communication Studies major and Journalism and Spanish minors. During her time at the University of Iowa, she was newsletter editor and president of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) as well as an executive board member of Chi Omega sorority. As PRSSA president, she spearheaded the first initiative to send executive board members to the PRSSA National Conference in Philadelphia, Pa. She has a strong interest in public relations and desired to gain as much experience as possible prior to her graduation.

Jennifer studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland where she learned the marketing practices of Coca-Cola. She also completed an internship in 2007 with the American Cancer Society, where she was involved with the regional Chicago office's public relations and media outreach. During her last year at college, she completed a semester-long internship with University News Services writing press releases and covering campus events.

After graduation, she began a summer internship with GolinHarris International on the McDonald's account. During her time there, she secured national media placements for Happy Meal promotions, wrote fact sheets and field memos and pitched new program initiatives to the client. After concluding her GolinHarris internship, she is excited to be at the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) to complete an internship for the Chicago Auto Show.
