Engines, Speed, Fluff Ice and a Pink Unicorn

The Chicago Auto Show gives automotive manufacturers a unique interactive opportunity. Looking around the show floor, you’ll see one impressive car after another, but what may be most attention grabbing is the giant pink unicorn strapped to the top of a Toyota RAV4.

Toyota is creating a memorable experience for CAS visitors by bringing two of its commercials to life.  Lady, the pink unicorn Pegasus, made her television debut last June.  If you are not familiar with the commercial, it features a loving father driving his family with a unicorn so big it rides on the top of their car.

“Why is she strapped to the roof of my RAV4? Well, if you have kids you know why,” he says.  Lady has been a fun addition to the show for both kids and adults.

Unlike the other test tracks, the Toyota Test Track has an ice cream truck, well Fluff Ice truck, stationed at its end.  Fluff Ice is a new trendy dessert, similar to ice cream, originating from Los Angeles.  The creators of Fluff Ice are at the show all week handing out their treat. 

The Toyota Camry commercial featuring Fluff Ice was first released last October.  The commercial has a mission impossible feel to it as a husband races to find a Fluff Ice truck so he can bring dessert home to his pregnant wife.

While all test tracks are designed to display the cars’ driving features, Toyota’s track made the experience even more impressive by mirroring the driving scene from the Camry commercial.
