Mazda Rallies in Grant Park to Prevent Distracted Driving

Posted by: Jennifer Morand

To celebrate Global Youth Service Day and bring awareness to the dangers of distracted driving, the Mazda Foundation has teamed up with After-School All-Stars (ASAS) to host an afternoon rally offering kid-friendly activities this weekend in Grant Park.

Mazda Motorsports driver and 2014 SCCA Kimberly Cup winner Danny Bender will be on hand to share safe driving tips, pose for photos and sign autographs. Additionally, Chicago-born two-time WWE Tag Team Champion David Otunga will lead a social media call-to-action for peace in Chicago. Rally-goers will enjoy music entertainment by hip hop artist FM Supreme.

Best of all, it’s free and open to the public. Here’s how you can attend and lend your support:

When: Saturday, April 25 from 1-3 p.m.

Where: Grant Park (337 E. Randolph St., Chicago 60601); event will be held at intersection of East Jackson Dr. and Columbus Dr.

What: The rally will promote service to the community and peace in Chicago, with a special effort to reduce distracted driving. The rally is free and open to the public.

Saturday’s event is one of nine student-led community service events organized by After-School All-Stars Youth Advisory Board Members, aimed at reducing distracted driving, taking place across the country as part of Global Youth Service Day (GYSD).
