Mazda Drive for Good

Posted by: Jennifer Morand

With so much negativity in the news, it’s refreshing to hear about those who contribute – both personally and financially – to a great cause. In this case, the spotlight’s on Mazda.

In an effort to help St. Jude Hospital achieve its mission of reducing the rate of pediatric cancer and helping kids continue treatment without their family incurring major medical expenses, Mazda has donated $1 million to the hospital through its Mazda Drive for Good program.

For every new Mazda vehicle purchased or leased from mid-November (2014) through Jan. 2 (2015), Mazda donated $150 to one of four national, or 44 local, charities. Each customer was able to select where their funds were contributed.

In addition, Mazda pledged an hour of charitable service for every test drive of a new Mazda vehicle taken within the Mazda Drive for Good event window. Mazda’s employees, dealers and business partners will all come together to achieve the more than 66,000 charitable service hours pledged to give back to those in need.

We’re sending a shout out to Mazda’s employees and dealerships that made this possible. If you want to help spread the good word, please tweet @MazdaUSA or any Chicago-area Mazda dealerships. Contributed to the cause, or plan to? Tweet us your story @ChiAutoShow.
