Disney Characters Grace the Family Day Stage

The Chicago Auto Show hosted its annual Family Day on Feb. 16, 2015 at the McCormick Place featuring Frozen and Tangled Disney princesses.
Families from across the country gathered to experience the nation’s largest auto show for cars, games, and performances from Disney characters.
First, we were involved in generating social media content to get families excited about the auto show. With the help of an innovative app, Hyper Lapse, we were able to show crowds of people entering the show at accelerated speeds. At the beginning of the show, the interns received a sneak preview of Elsa the Snow Queen’s memorable ‘Let It Go’ performance. Parents and children alike sang along to the catchy tune.
Afterwards, we took pictures of families participating with the interactive displays and car exhibits, which were uploaded on Vine and Instagram. Two of the interns, Sierra and Markist, received the opportunity to model in photos showcasing features of Acura’s latest 2016 RDX. Other interns remained on the show floor to encourage families to participate in a free ticket giveaway for the best social media videos.
But, the fun didn’t end there. Miss Illinois Teen USA made an appearance at the auto show, which she allowed children to wear her crown and sash for photos.
Later on, we had to write a blog about anything we wanted regarding the auto show. There was a lot of freedom with this and we were encouraged to do our own research and get our own pictures for the blog.
One noteworthy topic was the Toyota and Chrysler implementation of virtual reality in their interactive displays, which families thoroughly enjoyed. More importantly, the virtual reality technology educated families of the dangers of texting and driving while also emphasizing the importance of seat belt safety.
The auto show was a great experience brining families together for a day of fun, education and Disney princesses.
