zfrankJuly 18 in the Toyota Performance Corner
Known as "little z" growing up, the namesake of his grandfather, Zollie, and the Chevy dealership he started in 1936 ("Z" Frank Chevrolet), Zack Frank was not so interested in following the path laid out in front of him to join the family business but was driven towards exploring the magnetic pull he felt from music and pursuing his prowess in writing clever lyrics and catchy tunes. In his post-collegiate years, he relocated and shape-shifted across the music scene in Los Angeles, playing in an instrumental funk band called Hot Neighbor, backing up a dreamy folk-pop artist named Steffaloo, and supporting half a dozen others, all while quietly writing his own songs in his bedroom. Since heeding the siren's call of Chicago and returning to his hometown, Zack has adopted his grandfather's pioneering spirit and committed to embracing his own voice and sharing it with the world. That voice is zfrank.

Ellen Miller feat. zfrank - July 15 in the Toyota Performance Corner
Ellen Miller, the blues harmonica ace and leader of the Nelson Street Revival band (which features international blues sensation Peaches Staten and American roots and blues fiddle player Anne Harris) teams up with Chicago's up-and-coming singer-songwriter zfrank to entertain Chicago with classic and modern rock favorites, along with a few originals. The two became fast friends when zfrank moved in next door to Ellen in 2015 and they bonded over worldviews and music, later cementing their musical relationship on days that were warm enough to jam out in Ellen's inviting and whimsical patio during quarantine. After kicking off their public performances at Lakeview's Porch Fest, they're bound for a summer in Chicago packed with many more outdoor jams to come. The duo is leaving the patio behind, and fortunately, you're invited.

Soon after his return home to Chicago, he was diagnosed with cancer and was forced to hit pause on his music career as he fought through 4 cycles of Chemo. In mid-2018, he emerged completely cancer free and has since released 4 singles and continued to perform live nationally, including a partnership with Choose Chicago to represent the city for the Year of Chicago Music in 2020.
