CHICAGO (Feb. 9, 2017) -The Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) today announced the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has been named Family Vehicle of the Year.

MAMA senior vice president Damon Bell presented the award, now in its seventh year, at the annual MAMA breakfast, where approximately 400 media and manufacturer representatives kicked off the 2017 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview.

Accepting on behalf of Chrysler was Bruce Velisek, director of passenger car brand marketing. Velisek discussed how much the Pacifica brand means to the company and, by extension, its owners.

"Pacifica makes parenting easier," he said. "And, as a result, life is better."

To qualify for the Family Vehicle of the Year designation, vehicles must have four doors, a starting price below $50,000, have been significantly updated within the year, and have appeared for evaluation and voting at one of the Association's two automotive rallies.

"Choosing a family vehicle is an important decision," said Damon Bell. "MAMA members pooled their expertise and experience to select the best family vehicle from an excellent group of new and notably refreshed models, and the Chrysler Pacifica came out on top of them all."
