SEMA Takes Over Sin City

It’s always perilous when diving deep into the underbelly of the tuner market, but the 2013 SEMA Show, held in Las Vegas from Oct. 30 – Nov. 2, provided some interesting surprises. While there were many unique vehicles that caught our eye, we narrowed our list down to our top three picks.
2013 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition
Hot Wheels makes our childhood dream a reality! Chevy and the American toymaker teamed up to showcase a grown-up version of the Kinetic Blue Chevrolet Camaro with chunky five-spoke wheels. The new model tugs at the heartstrings of car enthusiasts who raced Hot Wheels through the halls of their childhood home. The manufacturer will make this model available -- for purchase – next year.
SEMA Mustang Build Powered by Women
Women took the wheel on the design of this customized Mustang. Forty women collaborated and put their special touches on the all-new 2013 Ford Mustang GT, also dubbed "The Ladies’ Stang." Parts for the vehicle were graciously donated by companies, including a supercharger signed by the renowned Vic Edelbrock, who was an automotive aftermarket performance parts engineer, racer and considered one of the founders of the American hot rod movement. The SEMA Mustang Build Powered by Women displays the talent of the female enthusiasts in the industry…not to mention the fabulous outcome of 40 powerful women!
2013 Toyota Avalon TRD Supercharged
What’s traditionally viewed as a family car turned into a showstopper at SEMA. The sleek Avalon DUB edition sported a de-chromed exterior with blacked-out elements and rolled along on 22-inch matte black wheels. Also included are tinted glass windows and black interior with suede accents on the seats. Toyota is actually considering producing this sportier version of the Avalon. What are your thoughts?
