On November 16, 2010, UNESCO declared flamenco one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity

Samba is a Brazilian music genre and dance style, with its roots in Africa via the West African slave trade and African religious traditions, Samba is recognized around the world as a symbol of Brazil and the Brazilian Carnival. Considered one of the most popular Brazilian cultural expressions, the samba has become an icon of Brazilian national identity.

Mariachi is a genre of Regional Mexican music that dates back to at least the 18th century, evolving over time in the countryside of various regions of western Mexico. In 2011, UNESCO recognized Mariachi as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, joining six other entries on the Mexican list of that category.
