MERCEDES-BENZ VANS DEBUTS ALL-NEW SPRINTER EXTREME CONCEPT AND SPRINTER WORKER AT THE 2016 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW
CHICAGO (February 11, 2016) - Mercedes-Benz Vans is ramping up its commercial van division and expanding its portfolio by introducing the all-new Sprinter Extreme concept van and the Sprinter Worker during the 2016 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the Sprinter Extreme concept has super strength and unlimited capability. Stretching over 20 ft. from end to end and more than 95" tall, the Sprinter Extreme concept can haul with 6,400 lbs. of payload capacity and a towing capacity of 7,500 lbs. With the help of RENNtech, the Sprinter Extreme has transformed into the ultimate work machine concept.
The Sprinter Extreme concept has the flexibility to fit the needs of both small business owners and fleet operators require.
Also unveiled was the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Worker that targets the commercial van market for plumbers, electricians, general contractors and HVAC specialists. The new van has 319 cubic ft. of available cargo space, has a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds, a seven-speed transmission and a 161 hp engine. It is expected to go on sale this spring for $32,495.
