Laurel Bmw Special Edition ‘Art Wrap’ M2 is Headed to Chicago Auto Show 2018

Laurel BMW of Westmont (Laurel BMW) is pleased to announce its Laurel Motorsport M2 Edition art wrap car will be on display at the BMW stand during the 2018 Chicago Auto Show from Feb. 8-19 at McCormick Place. The street legal track vehicle is wrapped with the winning design from their nationwide ‘Art Wrap Design Competition’ held in November of last year. It has been at the dealership for consumer viewing and is on the market to purchase.

GM, Pat Womack, commented “We’re honored to have our BMW M2 in the Chicago Auto Show, especially on the BMW NA stand. We built the car so that it can be driven on the street and the track – it’s for that motorsport enthusiast who wants something unique and fun – and the art wrap looks terrific. We’re proud of the way the M2 turned out and can’t wait for people to see it at the show.”

The BMW dealership started with a base model M2 and transformed it into a street legal track car using M Performance Parts and racing accessories. To add some character, they had a nationwide art wrap contest for artists, creatives and car enthusiasts to design the car wrap of their dreams.

The winner, Maui fine artist, Brad Forsythe, has spent a lifetime working in the creative arts field and has been honored with numerous local, regional and national industry awards for creative excellence. In 2014, he began collaborating with legendary surfboard shaper and global brand Jimmy Lewis creating original art for carbon fiber surfboards.

The distinguished panel of judges included legendary racecar driver, Bobby Rahal; President of Turner Motorsports, Will Turner; BMW of North America, Vice President of Marketing, Trudy Hardy; BMW Group, Head of Cultural Engagement, Thomas Girst; and BMW CCA Board Member, Len Rayburn. To ensure fairness, voting was anonymous.

Laurel BMW would like to recognize the following partners that volunteered their time and products: Cutting Edge Graphics & Design, Fall-Line Motorsports, H&R Springs, and Hoosier Racing Tire.
