Throwback Thursday at the Chicago Auto Show

Posted by: Shelby Duitsman

The Chicago Auto Show is a great place to look at and learn about new cars. With many of the manufacturers showcasing their 2015 models, patrons at the auto show can test out the latest features that a new car has to offer. But you won’t just see brand new cars at this year’s show. While it’s great to see the automobiles of tomorrow, sometimes the timeless classic looks of yesterday are even better.

Of all the amazing cars featured on the show floor, the vintage looks have caught my eye. I was especially drawn to the classic Ford Mustang. The Mustang is celebrating 50 years this April and Ford is showcasing the original muscle car of the 1960’s. It is interesting to me to see how similar the 1964 Mustang looks in comparison to the 2015 Ford Mustang. As much as things change, I guess they stay the same.

Dodge is also celebrating an anniversary this year; 100 years in production, an impressive milestone by anyone’s standards. Although they are not showcasing their classic cars, the 2015 Dodge Charger looks like something that would be driving down the highway in the 1960’s. History seems to be repeating itself!

The auto show may showcase cutting edge automobiles and concept cars that will make you do a double-take, but don’t forget about the classic cars on the show floor. Step inside one of the vintage models and you will feel like Marty McFly in Back to the Future!
