Keep Your Eyes and Ears Open

DJ’s, a Step Crew, and Interpretive dance? Am I in a dance hall or at the autoshow? This year at the autoshow a successful display is a musical one. What better way to get someones attention then through entertainment? My personal favorite displays include the Toyota Step Crew and Kia’s rad DJ.

The Toyota Step Crew: At first glance it there’s nothing too unique about the Toyota display. Sure they have the interactive Muppet game where you jam as many Muppets as you can into a Toyota, but what else do they have to offer? Well if you catch them at the right time, you might be in for a treat. The Toyota Step Crew will appear in a flash mob-esque style to wow you with their dance and vocal stylings. The performance will definitely “Take You Places” as Toyota would say. I personally appreciated Toyotas commitment to changing it up. Many other dealers have a very static arrangement and this surprise performance attracts a lot of guests to their display.

Kia Soul DJ: For a car geared towards the millennials and Generation X, Kia is doing everything right. The Soul is customizable from top to bottom, giving countless opportunities for buyers to personalize their dream vehicle. But the DJ is what really makes this exhibit cool. He is stationed inside of a lime green and purple Soul which is equipped with the most impressive audio system I’ve ever seen in a car. The DJ changes daily to ensure a variety of music being styled. Although the top 40 hits are not everyone’s cup of tea, it definitely will help Kia the younger generation.

But if you’re looking for a break from all the cars and dealers, keep your eye out on the other performances happening throughout the day. Just this morning on 2/11 there was a dance performance by St. Therese Chinese Catholic School. The students performed a traditional Chinese dance to celebrate the Chinese New Years. The performance included everything from colorful traditional costumes to two Chinese dragons.

The moral of the story is that if you’re walking the show floor this week at the auto show, keep your eyes and more importantly your ears open. Because if you’re hearing sweet sounds, chances are you don’t want to miss out on it’s source.
