April Fools’ Day Jokes In The Auto World

Happy April Fools’ Day! Today everyone has an excuse to play pranks or jokes on your friends and family. This year a few in the auto industry decided to participate in the April Fool’s Day fun as well. Here are some of our favorites that were released from the automotive world:
Acura
Acura hit an important milestone today by it being the 28th consecutive year they have been a top luxury automobile brand in American based on its alphabetical ranking. Acura has held this spot in front of other brands including Audi, BMW, and Lexus.
"At Acura, there are many things we're proud of, and one of those things is our alphabetic dominance. I mean, these are the A-B-Cs of marketing, and no one does it better than Acura," said Mike Accavitti, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Acura.
Honda
This one is great for DIYers. On April 14 Honda will release a 2015 Fit Kit which will allow you to build a 2015 Honda Fit yourself. This is great for anyone who has wanted to put a car together on their own. The kit will come with all 200,000 mechanical parts, and it will come with a detailed instruction manual and DVD to help assembled the 2015 Fit.
"We read comments every day on enthusiast forums suggesting they could build a better car themselves, so we decided to take it a step further and let people actually build one," said Kuruma Tsukuru, global manager of the new at-home assembly project for American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Ford
If you love to grill, this car is perfect for you! The 2015 C-Max Energi Kingsford Edition is the newest member of the Ford C-Max family.
The car will come with an in-vehicle charcoal grill, and it is engineered to capture heat energy that is usually lost during the barbequing process, and it will also help charge the hybrid battery.
Ford noted that the barbeque system will retrieve up to 600mA of power at full grilling temperature, which is enough to power the car stereo during your BBQ if you do not turn the volume up too high.

New Bill in Michigan (this is not an April Fool’s joke but it should be)
Do you catch yourself wanting to pick up a dead animal you see on the side of the road? In Lansing, Michigan a Bill is trying to get approved by the state Senate to allow people to pick up roadkill and turn it into fast food. This would allow for drivers to have the first rights to any animal that their vehicle hits. A hunting license or a salvage tag will be required for someone to claim a dead deer of bear lying along a roadway.
