Following ongoing conversations and persistent feedback from manufacturers, and in response to the evolving media landscape, the 2026 Chicago Auto Show will consolidate to a single-day Media Preview on Friday, February 6, 2026.
The Chicago Auto Show’s Media Preview will now take place on Friday, February 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., delivering a comprehensive day designed for media to experience the show, its exhibitors and the latest automotive news, ahead of the public opening. The 2 p.m. conclusion of Media Preview activities will allow for a seamless transition as the show floor is dressed up that evening for the show’s First Look for Charity black tie gala.
Consolidating the official Media Preview into one day allows manufacturers and media to maximize impact, streamline schedules and better align with current coverage needs. Throughout the Media Preview, the show floor will be fully accessible and activated, featuring indoor test tracks, content creation opportunities, programming and the chance to explore the new Chi-Town Alley exhibit.
Media Preview programming will kick off the evening prior, Thursday, February 5 with Sweet Home Chicago, a welcome reception from 5-8 p.m., providing an opportunity for media, manufacturers and industry partners to connect ahead of Friday’s preview activities.
The Chicago Auto Show remains committed to delivering a high-impact media experience while adapting to the changing dynamics of the automotive and media industries.
