The 2026 Chicago Auto Show will host a Media Preview on Friday, Feb. 6. Throughout the Media Preview, the show floor will be fully accessible and activated, featuring indoor test tracks, content creation opportunities, programming and the chance to explore the new Chi-Town Alley exhibit.
Media Credentials
Journalists seeking access to the Media Preview MUST apply for credentials in advance. There is NO ONSITE REGISTRATION. Approved credentials will be sent via email. A government-issued PHOTO ID WILL BE REQUIRED in addition to your media credential for access to the Media Preview.
The application deadline for 2026 Chicago Auto Show media credentials is Friday, January 30.
Show Floor Access
Media Credentials provide the following access to the show floor:
· Media Preview Friday, Feb. 6: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Media Credentials ARE NOT valid for First Look for Charity.
Media wishing to access the Chicago Auto Show on Public Days (Feb. 7-16) or at any time other than the schedule Media Preview hours must make a request to the Chicago Auto Show communications team.
Media Center
The Chicago Auto Show media center is located adjacent to the show floor and will be open during the Media Preview hours on Friday, Feb. 6, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Media center amenities will include hi-speed internet access and power.
Hotel Accommodations
The Chicago Auto Show will continue its partnership with the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place as the official hotel for the 2026 Chicago Auto Show.
Just a 5-minute indoor walk from the McCormick Place show floor, experience modern guestrooms and sweeping views of the Chicago skyline.
The negotiated room rate for the Chicago Auto Show block is $198 (plus tax and fees). The negotiated rate for First Look for Charity, scheduled for Friday, Feb. 6 is $176 (plus tax and fees).

Parking
For more information on parking and directions to McCormick Place, please visit our Parking & Directions page. Parking is NOT complimentary, as the lots are not operated by auto show management.
Coat Check
During the Media Preview the Chicago Auto Show provides a complimentary coat check. The coat check is located adjacent to the Grand Ballroom in the Grand Concourse. You will need a media credential to use this room for your belongings. Please note clearly posted closing times.
