Ford

Ford is the full-line, mass-market brand of Ford Motor Co., which also sells luxury vehicles in North America under the Lincoln name. FoMoCo, as it is commonly called, was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated on 1903. The brand built its reputation on two ideas: Mass production and a car for every household. Henry Ford is credited with employing the first automotive assembly line, greatly reducing the cost of producing an automobile – thus ushering in the era of the Model T. The Ford Model T was introduced in 1908 and is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile. Indeed, the car opened travel to the common middle-class American. Today, Ford is one of the world’s most successful automotive brands. Ford sells a full line of cars, trucks, crossovers and sport-utility vehicles. Ford is headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, remains independent and is publicly traded.
