Kia shakes up the Auto Show with a little Barbecue and Blues

Posted by: Rachel Anderson

Kia Motors America helped auto enthusiasts get in true Chicago spirit by opening their press conference with the Club Kia blues band.  As the band performed, onlookers watched in awe as they anxiously waited the unveiling of the vehicles draped in white cloth at the front of the stage.  Once the band concluded, Vice President of Sales for Kia Motors of North America, Tom Loveless, ensured that Kia's goal for their customers to "save more, worry less" would still be the driving force during the tough economic times.  Kia's overall theme is represented in the Drive Defects to Zero concept addressing perceived quality through design and engineering.  This concept has been part of the company's internal mission and has now been shared with the public.
Loveless stated that Kia's product lines are continuously being redesigned and refreshed more than other car manufacturers.  By 2013, more than half the vehicles that Kia produces will be manufactured in the United States.  During this time of transition, Kia will continue to grow helping to stimulate over 9,000 jobs by 2010.
After much anticipation, Kia staff unveiled the new Forte sedan in four vibrant colors.  Loveless connected the meaning of Forte to the symbol in music meaning increase the volume.  This concept he related to "playing it loud and strong" in terms of Kia's design and engineering.  Kia strived to create an entirely new sedan where the quality could be seen and felt by its consumer.  Some features of the Kia Forte include large trunk cargo capacity, new technology in Bluetooth capability and USB port.  The price of the Kia Forte has yet to be released.
And what goes better with blues than barbecue?  At the end of the press conference Kia offered barbecue and a variety of beverages to all attendees.
