2013 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER: The 2013 model year Toyota Land Cruiser full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) made its North American debut on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 in the Toyota display at the Chicago Auto Show (CAS). Returning to the 2013 CAS, the Land Cruiser demonstrates how the brand has evolved over time from a basic four-wheel-drive utility vehicle in its early years to an upscale eight-passenger sport utility vehicle (SUV) sold in 188 countries. For the 2013 model year, Land Cruiser receives exterior and interior styling enhancements, including an updated front grille, LED daytime running lights, chrome side molding, redesigned taillights and outer side mirrors, a color-keyed rear spoiler, plus, rugged, enlarged front and rear fenders. Complementing the freshened exterior, Land Cruiser receives an updated interior available in either Sandstone or Black that seats up to eight, with three-across seating in the second and third rows. The passenger-side second-row seat features a one-touch tumble mechanism for easier third-row in and out. When middle and rear seatbacks are stow away, there is 43.0 cu. ft. of cargo carrying room. New standard features include such goodies as rear-seat DVD entertainment system, center-console cooler box, Bluetooth and heated second row seats. Under the 2013 Land Cruiser hood that "flows gracefully into the grille and beltlines," is a 381 horsepower 5.7-liter V-8 DOHC engine, mated to a six-speed ECT automatic transmission with sequential shift mode. The lightweight, compact transfer case provides full-time four-wheel drive. Land Cruiser is available in seven exterior colors, including Pearl White, which is new to the paint palette.
