2014 TOYOTA TACOMA: As the best-selling compact pickup truck in the U.S. market since 2005, the Toyota Tacoma offers a sporty new SR appearance package for 2014 and discontinued the X-Runner sport truck. With restyled exterior and upgraded interiors, the 2014 Toyota Tacoma adds an available Entune multimedia system and a new Limited model package for a touch of luxury. The backup camera display has been moved from the rear-view mirror to the Entune head unit display. The 2014 Tacoma configurations are based on three cab types: Regular Cab, Access Cab with rear seating, and the four-door Double Cab. Both the Regular and Access models feature a 73.5-inch long bed, while the Double Cab comes with a choice of 60.3-inch or the 73.5-in bed. Standard powertrain is a 2.7 liter Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) four-cylinder that produces 159 horsepower, matched to a five-speed manual gearbox or four-speed automatic transmission. An available 4.0L DOHC V-6 provides 236hp, and comes linked with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic. Both engines have variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) to provide strong low-end and mid-range torque. When equipped with a V-6 Tow Package, the Tacoma models boast a maximum towing capacity from 3,400 to 6,500 pounds, and depending on configurations, the Tacoma's payload numbers range upwards from 1,175 pounds to 1500 pounds. All Tacoma models are offered in the 4x2, PreRunner and 4x4 configurations. Popular upgrades add in-demand connectivity features, navigation, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, HD Radio with iTunes tagging and text/e-mail-to-voice.
