The traditional Maserati grille, with its vertical slats, is a modern take on the GranTurismo’s front grille and those of other Maserati classics from the past. The eye is drawn over the imposing engine hood and new LED daytime-running lights, as well to the three distinctive air vents behind the front wheels. The wraparound sidelights frame the LED rear tail lights the rear spoiler, discreetly integrated with the trunklid, generates downforce while maintaining the sophisticated look of a luxury sedan. Passengers in the Maserati Quattroporte can relax in an interior finished in luxurious Italian Poltrona Frau leathers, prestigious wood trim and a dashboard arranged in three horizontal bands with the broad center console, tunnel and other door elements finished in unique, open-pore Radica wood trim as standard. The Maserati V-6 3.0-liter engine forms a throaty roar at low engine speeds and the full symphonic sound of a genuine sports car at higher rpm. Mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, the V-6 performance numbers include 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and a governed top speed 176 mph. The spacious, 18.7-cu. ft. trunk has an even shape and flat floor that can fit three to four golf bags, and the model on display at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show has an MSRP of more than $135,000.
