2014 HONDA CR-Z: A big hit in the Honda exhibit at last year’s Chicago Auto Show was the new Honda CR-Z, with its “one-motion” exterior wedge shape. The sport hybrid coupe continues into 2014 with its sleek exterior, rich interiors and outstanding fuel efficiency. Available in the well-equipped base CR-Z and the top-tier CR-Z EX, all are equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder, single-overhead cam engine with additional muscle from the system's DC brushless electric motor and 144-volt Lithium-Ion battery pack. Together, the CR-Z delivers a combined peak output of 130 horsepower, a gain of eight horsepower from previous configuration. Consumers have a choice of a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with paddle shifters, or the six-speed manual-transmission, which received a larger clutch and new lower final drive ratio. The latest Honda CR-Z is also equipped with a new Plus Sport System for additional on-demand electric boost via a steering wheel-mounted "S+" button. Styling upgrades includes stylish front fascia and mesh grille, a "floating" lower front spoiler lip, new treatment to the headlight and taillights, and an aerodynamic improved rear diffuser. Revised two-passenger cockpit trim contain ultra-modern instrument panel gauges that are illuminate with a three-dimensional blue color.  A total of 25.1 cu. ft. of cargo room is offered behind the center console, and two-tone combi (black/red) is available for seating. Standard features include Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, Bluetooth audio, rearview camera, an expanded view driver's mirror, AM/FM/CD/USB audio system with six speakers, and much more.   Chicago Auto Show Fact: A Honda representative speaking at the 2013 show explained that the name CR-Z was an abbreviation for “Compact Renaissance Zero.”
