2014 ACURA TL: As Acura’s award-winning, performance-oriented sport sedan, the fourth-generation TL balances style, luxury and dynamic performance. Visually, the exterior is offered in four pearl and four metallic colors, highlighted by sculpted lines and genuine stainless-steel trim, LED taillights and dynamic surface appearance. This year's model lineup is comprised of eight variants, starting with the front-wheel drive 3.5-liter V-6 that generates 280 horsepower. Three upgrade packages are available on the TL - the Technology, Advance and Special Edition packages. The two-wheel-drive TL Special Edition features distinctive 10-spoke, 18-inch alloy wheels, a color-matched decklid spoiler and Special Edition badging. The TL SH-AWD features Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and a 305hp 3.7L V-6 engine and is likewise available with either the Technology or Advance Package. All models feature a Sequential SportShift six-speed automatic transmission, while a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission is a no-cost option on specific models. A “dual personal” five-passenger cockpit contains a remarkable range of standard components, including a 10-way power driver seat and eight-way power passenger seat, steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters for automatic transmission, an eight-speaker, 276-watt audio system with six-disc CD changer, AM/FM radio, XM Radio, Bluetooth, USB port connectivity, and HandsFreeLink wireless telephone interface. Other options to consider is navigation with voice recognition, rearview camera and 440-watt premium audio setup. Carrying over from last year, the TL has a battery management system that is designed to increase the overall service life of the battery. The Acura TL offers a generous 13.1 cu. ft. of storage volume while the all-wheel drive model has 12.5 cu. ft. of storage (due to the space requirement needed for the SH-AWD rear differential). The TL's trunk is spacious enough to hold four golf bags, four 22-inch long Pullman-style suitcases or a family-sized cooler. Chicago Auto Show Fact: It was during the 2011 Chicago Auto Show that Acura Vice President of Sales Jeff Conrad introduced the present-generation TL model, which is produced in Marysville, Ohio.
