FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICAGO (Feb. 12, 2015) – Digital Megaphone hosted the second annual Vine/Instagram Video Challenge at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show Social Media Preview. Social media savvy judges – Hope Bertram, CEO and founder of Digital Megaphone; Tim Bay, vice president of digital at Wilton; Ji Suk Yi, on-air host of Windy City LIVE; Lizza Morales, actor, TV host and digital influencer; and Brett Kreisman of Twitter – selected @Chicagoings Instagram video as the grand prize winner.

The winning video portrays how wishes can be granted at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.  To view the winning video, visit http://instagram.com/p/zDplPNgT7f/.

As part of the Chicago Auto Show’s Social Media Preview Day, show organizers teamed up with Digital Megaphone – a Chicago-based organization that connects brands with bloggers through social media challenges and interactive blogger events – deployed digital influencers on the show floor. The influencers were tasked with capturing footage via Vine or Instagram that best showcases the nation’s largest auto show.

“We were blown away by this year's video challenge submissions,” said Bertram. “Tim Bay, vice president at Wilton, and Brett Kreisman of Twitter, provided valuable tips to the participants before the challenge began. This great advice coupled with the added incentive of two round trip tickets on Southwest Airlines for the grand prize, helped us to raise the bar over last year's competition; we’re already thinking of ways to up the game even more for the 2016 challenge.”

Beyond exposure, the grand prize winner received two round trip tickets on Southwest Airlines, Shell gas gift cards and passes to Raging Waves and Kane County Cougars tickets, provided by Fifth Third Bank.

Two additional submissions were also recognized for creativity and entertainment. The second place video was submitted by @randelaw, http://instagram.com/p/zEOFcyzPjj, and the third place video shared by @Data_Dreamer video can be viewed here: http://instagram.com/p/zEhD9wDfRG/.  As a prize, both received shell gas gift cards and passes to Raging Raves and Kane County Cougars tickets provided by Fifth Third Bank.

The winning video will be displayed for all to see during the public show from Feb. 14-22. The Chicago Auto Show is also featuring the winning video on its website and social media channels – providing credit to the editors.
