CHICAGO (Feb. 12, 2015) – While there many activities that appeal to women during the run of the nine-day Chicago Auto Show, organizers host Women's Day annually to further reach the female demographic. Held this year on Tuesday, Feb. 17, Women's Day at the Chicago Auto Show will feature a robust lineup of events and activities geared toward the female car buyers. 

The Chicago Auto Show and its Women’s Day sponsor, the Chicago Tribune, are hosting a full schedule of events in coordination with the Chicagonista Live! Show.  The program, Women Driving Excellence, is aimed at celebrating women who start, accelerate, fuel and steer others to excel.  Reserved seating and Chicago Auto Show tickets are available for the first 100 that register at http://womendrivingexcellence.com/.  A complete schedule is listed below:

10:00 a.m. Networking Power Hour sponsored by State Farm Insurance, facilitated by the National Association of Women Business Owners and Exclusive Professional Women’s Networking Group.

11:00 a.m. Honoring Trailblazing Women Presentation facilitated by Andrea Metcalf featuring Anita Alvarez, State’s Attorney, Cook County; Debi Lilly, Chief Eventeur, A Perfect Event; Dorri McWhorter, CEO, YWCA Chicago; Janet Davies, Host, ABC-7 190 North; Lucy Moy-Bartosik, Commander, Chicago Police Department and Dr. Suzet McKinney, Deputy Commissioner, Public Health Preparedness and Emergency Response.

1:00 p.m. Enjoy a musical performance with cast members from FIRST DATE, a hysterical and hopeful Broadway musical about the chances we all take to find love.

2:00 p.m. Join MJ Tam, Beth Rosen, Duong Sheahan and Nancy Loo host the #ChicagonistaLIVE! Talk Show, Chicago’s first social talk show.

3:00 p.m. Gearing Up with Social Videos Presentation featuring author and spokesperson Shawna Coronado and columnist and blogger Beth Engleman.

In addition to the nearly 1,000 different vehicles that are on display throughout the more than 1 million sq. ft. of show floor space, women can experience the interactive exhibits, including several that let you simulate an actual race course, as well as the always popular Jeep, Dodge and Toyota Test Tracks, all with full-sized vehicles.

Numerous studies show that women make over 80 percent of the buying decisions, even when it comes to big ticket items such as cars. 

"Women have massive buying power and we are excited to offer the opportunity for them to connect with manufacturers first-hand here at the Chicago Auto Show," said John Webb, 2015 Chicago Auto Show Chairman. "A number of manufacturers will host special women-oriented programs that allow brand representatives to further connect with and shake hands with female customers."
