Chicago Auto Show - 1942

  • 1941CAS NoStopAmericaRevue4Web22
There were no national auto shows held in 1942. The Chicago Auto Show (CAS) went on hiatus after the 1941 show, which actually was held in late 1940. The reason of course, was World War II. American factories that were building cars and trucks were converted to producing planes, tanks, trucks, jeeps, and small weapons. Following the end of the Great War it took time to gear back up for auto production. The CAS didn't resume until 1950, when it was the first in the nation to return to the popular event that paid tribute to the car and all its motorized cohorts.
