Subaru Shared the Love This Year

Posted by: Hayley Feichter

Subaru made another huge impact with their Share the Love event. In its ninth consecutive year, the event raised $23.4 million for national and local charities, totaling more than $94 million since its inception.

Held in November and December, Subaru's Share the Love event donates $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased. The customer can select from a list of organizations including the ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America, and National Park Foundation. Additionally, each dealer selected a local charity from their hometown to support, adding more than 660 local causes to the event.

Here in our own backyard, two Subaru dealers have made an impact in our community through the Share the Love event. Gerald Subaru of Naperville selected the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry as its local charity for the campaign. They raised around $38,000 from the event and matched another $10,000 to total an impressive $49,000 donation from this year's event. Similarly, Evanston Subaru raised $37,000 and matched up to $18,000 to present a check of more than $55,000 to two local charities: Ride2Recovery and the Community Animal Rescue Effort. Because of the donations and work within the community, Evanston Subaru in Skokie was named the 2016 Subaru Love Promise Retailer of the Year.
