Scion Hopes Weird is Right

Posted by: Colleen Moran

Scion's "Weird, Right?" commercials, featuring the new iM and iA, are behind the brand's most extensive marketing campaign in years. The youth-orientated automaker enlisted the help of advertising agency Droga5 in the spots featuring actors James Franco and Jaleel White.

According to Scion, the iM and iA clientele are "independent-minded," so this eccentric campaign aims to target those young customers looking for a unique car and unique car-buying experience. The light-hearted ads put an emphasis on sought-after standard features and affordable pricing.

Scion iM spots tout features such as a 7-inch Pioneer audio system with standard HD Radio, rear-view backup camera, and Scion's very first 4.2-inch multi-information color display. Sophistication is highlighted in the Scion iA spots that show off piano-black bumper treatment, chrome grille surround, keyless entry with pushbutton start, low-speed pre-collision system and tech features like 7-inch touch screen multimedia system with voice recognition.

Take a look at the spots below and tell us what you think on Facebook or Twitter.
