Nissan TITAN Driving Experience This Weekend

Posted by: Jennifer Morand

In 2016, Nissan introduced the TITAN XD, staking out a unique position between the heavy-duty and light-duty pickups. Now for 2017, Nissan is introducing the all-new TITAN half-ton.

The full-size pickup is powered by a 390-hp, 5.6-liter V8 engine and features innovative design, technology and utility including:
  • A multi-functional interior including a center console big enough to hold a 15-inch laptop.
  • Audio and entertainment provided by a 5-inch color display with USB connection for iPod interface, streaming via Bluetooth, hands-free text assist, NissanConnect with mobile apps and a six-speaker audio system.
  • Rear-view monitor with trailer guides.
  • Towing capacity of 9,390 lbs. and maximum payload of 1,610 lbs.
  • Regular, double and crew cab body styles with beds designed to work hard and play harder including an industry-first tailgate system featuring four aluminum alloy cleats, that move and lock anywhere along the walls, as well as bed floor and header tracks – providing endless tie-down opportunities.
The new TITAN is offered in a variety of equipment packages including the S Convenience & Utility Package, the SV Comfort & Convenience Package, the PRO-4X Utility and Tow Package, the PRO-4X Convenience Package, the PRO-4X Luxury Package, the SL Towing Convenience Package and the SL Chrome Package.

Nissan has declared this year the #NissanYearoftheTruck, expecting to produce a volume of 500,000 refreshed trucks and SUVs including the TITAN, Armada, Pathfinder and Rogue. Nissan expects the new 2017 TITAN half-ton to generate about 40 percent of all TITAN sales.

The 2017 Nissan TITAN is rolling into dealerships this fall, and Nissan is giving Chicagoans an exclusive opportunity to put the new truck through its paces this weekend. Ahead of this weekend’s event, Nissan invited a select group of local journalists to come and experience the all-new TITAN half-ton pickup in a variety of real-world scenarios.

During the first leg of the course, participants could accelerate from 0 to 50 miles per hour, then put the panic breaking feature and the full ABS stop to the test.

The next part of the experience allowed drivers to experience hill and log climbing, rock crawls, berm steering and navigation – all to showcase the truck’s capable off-road drive options.
