Want to raise a little money for your community group? Drive a Ford!

Posted by: Jennifer Morand

Ford Drive Community 350Piggybacking on Ford’s very successful Drive 4 UR School initiative, the Dearborn, Michigan, automaker recently launched the Drive 4 UR Community program to help raise money for local charities. Much like Drive 4 UR School, this program provides community groups the change to team up with local Ford and Ford Lincoln dealerships to host a "fun"-draising test-drive event. Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to the participating organization for each test drive – up to $6,000. This encourages more dealership participation so that more people come out to test-drive vehicles to raise even more money.

The Drive 4 UR Community program is a fun and engaging way for consumers to test-drive the latest Ford and Lincoln models while feeling good about supporting a local charity. The organization of each event is a team effort between the local dealerships and nonprofit organizations. The dealers provide the vehicles to be test-driven and both parties work together to plan and publicize the event.

Ford dealers may register to host their own fundraising events from September to December 2012 here. Dealers who sign up will be provided a preapproved list of national organizations and guidelines to follow when selecting a nonprofit.

We’re excited to track the progress of the Drive 4 UR Community program over time as Ford’s original Drive 4 UR School initiative raised more than $12 million for local schools since 2007, when the program began.
