Chrysler vehicles are manufactured by the Chrysler group, which is now owned by Fiat. Other brands that fall under the Chrysler umbrella include Dodge, Jeep, Ram and SRT. Chrysler’s history dates back to 1925 when the company was founded by Walter Chrysler. In 1928 the brand greatly expanded when Chrysler acquired the Fargo Truck Company and the Dodge Brothers Company. Chrysler remained independent, acquiring additional brands like AMC and Jeep until 1998 when it merged with German automaker Daimler Benz. That relationship lasted until 2007, when Chrysler was spun off eventually by Benz only to be eventually snapped up a by Fiat.
