2025 Subaru Forester: The 2025 Subaru Forester is a compact 4-door wagon that competes in the highly popular compact crossover class. The 2025 Forester offers several trim levels: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, Touring, and, newly introduced at the 2025 Chicago Auto Show, Wilderness, and Hybrid. All gas-only models come standard with a 2.5-liter BOXER 4-cylinder engine producing 180 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The new Wilderness trim features 9.3 inches of ground clearance, enhanced underbody protection, functional roof rails with an 800-pound static load capacity, LED hexagonal fog lights, and StarTex upholstery that is water-resistant and easy to clean. The Wilderness trim also includes a revised 2.5-liter BOXER engine with 180 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque, and a Lineartronic CVT with a shorter final drive ratio for better off-road performance.
The Hybrid model offers a 2.5-liter flat-four engine combined with a 1.1-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and electric motor, producing a total of 194 horsepower. It achieves up to 35 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway, and 35 mpg combined, significantly improving fuel efficiency compared to the standard model4. The Hybrid model also includes Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, lane departure warning, pre-collision safety system, and adaptive cruise control.
Pricing for the 2025 Subaru Forester starts at $29,695 for the Base trim and goes up to $39,995 for the Touring trim. The Wilderness trim is expected to be available in the fall of 2025, while the Hybrid model will be available this spring3.
