
2023 Hyundai Kona (Production): The Hyundai Kona remains unchanged for 2023, with the addition of some standard safety features being the only change. These include blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, and pedestrian/bicycle warning. Kona is a compact crossover that seats 5 passengers and is only available as a 4-door wagon. Competitors include the Chevrolet Trax, Toyota CH-R, Ford EcoSport, Mazda CX-30, and Jeep Renegade. Electric and high-performance versions are also available.
Five trims are offered: SE, SEL, N Line, Limited, and N. There are three engines available: A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 147 horsepower, a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 195 horsepower, and a turbocharged 2.0-liter that produces 286 horsepower in the N variant. Three transmissions are available: A 6-speed automatic, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (N). Kona Electric uses a 150 kW motor that produces 201 horsepower and has a range of 258 miles. Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive being optional. Pricing ranges from $23,000 to $36,000.
