2022 Nissan Leaf: The Nissan Leaf sees a considerable price drop for 2022, as well as the addition of a CHAdeMO fast-charging port as standard. Nissan ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving-assist is also added to the SV Plus trim. The Leaf is an electric vehicle that seats 5 passengers and is offered only as a 4-door hatchback. Competitors include the BMW i3, Chevrolet Bolt EV and Tesla Model 3.
Five trims are offered: S, SV, S Plus, SV Plus, and SL Plus. Standard Leaf models get a 100-kilowatt electric motor powered by a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery that produces 147 horsepower and a range of 151 miles. Leaf Plus models get a 62-kWh battery that produces 215 horsepower and a range of 226. Only front-wheel-drive models are offered. Pricing ranges from $28,000 to $39,000.
