2022 Lexus IS: The Lexus IS remains unchanged for 2022, with the V8-powered IS500 F Sport model being the only change. The IS is a compact luxury car that seats 5 passengers and is only offered as a 4-door sedan. Competitors include the Acura TSX, Audi A3, BMW 2-Series, Infiniti Q50, Mercedes-Benz CLA, and Volvo S40.
Four trims are offered: IS 300, IS 350 F Sport, IS 500 F Sport Performance, and IS 500 F Sport Performance Premium. Three engine options are available: A turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 241 horsepower and pairs to an 8-speed automatic transmission, a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 311 horsepower and pairs to a 6-speed automatic, and a 5.0-liter V8 that makes 472 horsepower and pairs to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive being optional.
The new IS 500 F Sport is powered by the same iconic V8 that's been used in other F cars, such as the RC F and even the Lexus LC. It can do 0-60 in just 4.4 seconds, according to Lexus, and comes with larger wheels, brakes, and more aggressive styling inside and out. Pricing ranges from $38,000 to $60,000.
2022 Lexus LC 500: The Lexus LC sees the addition of a new Bespoke trim for 2022, which includes an active rear wing, unique wheels and roof, blacked-out exterior trim, and orange interior. The LC is a luxury sports car that is offered as a two-door coupe or 2-door convertible. Competitors include the Audi R8, Chevrolet Corvette, Jaguar F-Type, Mercedes-AMG GT and Nissan GT-R. A hybrid variant is also available.
Two trims are offered: LC500 and Bespoke. Two engines are available: A 5.0-liter V8 that produces 471 horsepower and pairs to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a 3.5-liter V6 that mates with two electric motors for a total system output of 354 horsepower that pairs to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Only rear-wheel-drive models are offered. Pricing ranges from $96,000 to $105,000.
