2022 Hyundai Kona: The Hyundai Kona sees a styling refresh inside and out for 2022, including new front and rear fascias, lighting, and wheel designs. Inside, a new dashboard features a new 8.0-inch infotainment screen and digital gauge cluster. A new sporty N model is also new for 2022. Kona is a compact crossover that seats 5 passengers and is only available as a 4-door wagon. Competitors include the Chevrolet Trax, Toyota CH-R, Ford EcoSport, Mazda CX-30, and Jeep Renegade. Electric and high-performance versions are also available.
Five trims are offered: SE, SEL, N Line, Limited, and N. There are three engines available: A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 147 horsepower, a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 195 horsepower, and a turbocharged 2.0-liter that produces 286 horsepower (N). Three transmissions are available: A 6-speed automatic, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (N). Kona Electric uses a 150 kW motor that produces 201 horsepower and has a range of 258 miles. Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive being optional.
The Kona N is the latest and sportiest addition to the Kona lineup, featuring more aggressive body styling, unique color choices, larger wheels and brakes, as well as a sportier interior. It's powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 286 horsepower and can do 0-60 in just 5.5 seconds. Pricing ranges from $21,000 to $36,000.
