2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: The Chevrolet Silverado gets a design refresh inside and out for 2022, including new headlights, grille, bumpers, interior tech, and GM's Super Cruise "handsfree" driving-assist tech. Silverado 1500 is a full-size pickup truck that's offered in regular cab, double cab and crew cab body styles that seat from 3 to 5 passengers. Competitors include the Ford F-150, GMC Sierra 1500, Nissan Titan, Ram 1500 and Toyota Tacoma.
Eight trims are offered: WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country. Four powertrain combinations are available: 4.3-liter V6 making 285 horsepower and 6-speed automatic, turbocharged 310-horsepower 2.7-liter 4-cylinder with 8-speed automatic, 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 10-speed automatic, and 3.0-liter inline-6 turbodiesel that makes 277 horsepower and pairs with a 10-speed automatic. Maximum towing capacity is 9,700 pounds. Rear- and four-wheel-drive models are offered.
New for 2022 is the addition of GM's Super Cruise driving assist feature, which allows for handsfree driving on certain approved roads, all while being monitored by an eye-level camera that verifies the driver is awake and paying attention to the road. Super Cruise can also be used while towing a trailer in the 2022 Silverado. Pricing ranges from $31,000 to $66,000.
