2022 BMW X5: The BMW X5 remains the same for 2022, with the additional of a limited-edition, blacked-out Vermilion variant being the only change. The X5 is a 5-seat crossover that's only sold as a 4-door wagon. Its competitors include the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Acura MDX, Audi Q7, and Porsche Cayenne. Hybrid and high-performance variants are available.
There are four models offered: X5 sDrive40i, X5 xDrive40i, X5 xDrive45e, and X5 M50i. There are three engines available: a turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six engine that makes 335 horsepower, a turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six aided by an electric motor that makes 389 horsepower, and a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 523 horsepower. All engines mate to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Rear- and all-wheel-drive versions are available
There are two high-performance variants available, called the X5 M and X5 M Competition. They feature a stiffer suspension, more aggressive styling, bigger brakes, and a high-output version of the twin-turbo, 4.4-liter V8 engine. The X5 M produces 600 horsepower, and the Competition 617. Pricing ranges from $59,000 to $106,000.
