2021 Acura TLX: All-new inside and out for 2021, the Acura TLX is a midsize luxury car that sits five passengers and comes only available as a 4-door sedan. With the demise of the RLX, TLX becomes Acura's largest sedan. The new model is longer and wider than the model it replaces. It also adopts a racing-inspired double-wishbone front suspension. Competitors include the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, Cadillac ATS, Lexus IS and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. For 2019, the TLX receives a new exterior color and new wheel designs. The A-Spec sport appearance kit can now be had with the entry-level engine.
Trims include Base, Technology, A-Spec, Advanced and Type S. Two engines are offered. Most models get a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 272 horsepower. Type S models get a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that makes 355 horsepower and is pared to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Both engines come with a 10-speed automatic transmission. All models save the Type S come standard with all-wheel drive. Option on those models and standard on the Type S is Acura's Super Handling all-wheel-drive system.
Standard on all models is an infotainment system with a 10.2-inch screen that's controlled by a touchpad. Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $45,000 to $47,000.
