2020 Volvo XC40: The Volvo XC40 remains unchanged for 2020, but sees the addition of an all-new electric variant called XC40 Recharge. The XC40 is a compact crossover that seats 5 passengers and is only offered as a 4-door wagon. Competitors include the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLB.
Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive being optional. Three trims are offered: Momentum, R-Design and Inscription. There are two different engines: A 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower and pairs to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a 300kW electric motor that produces 400 horsepower in the Recharge model.
Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $34,000 to $41,000. Pricing for the Recharge variant hasn't been released.
